North Championship Draws 2014

posted 20 Feb 2014, 14:20 by Moneygall GAA
The draws for the 2014 North Tipperary Senior and Junior Hurling Championships were made in The Hibernian Inn Nenagh tonight.

In the senior championship Moneygall will meet Borris-Ileigh in Round 1.  The full Round 1 draw is as follows: Burgess v Lorrha-Dorrha; Portroe v Borrisokane; Borris-Ileigh v Moneygall; Templederry Kenyons v Nenagh Éire Óg; Silvermines v Ballina; Roscrea v Kilruane MacDonaghs; Kildangan v Toomevara.

This year the senior championship will have a new format.  In Round 2, the seven winners from Round 1 will each be drawn against a Round 1 loser.  After Round 2, any club with two victories progresses to the quarter finals, and any club with two defeats is eliminated.  The remaining teams who have one win and one loss will play a play-off round for the remaining quarter final places.

The junior championship will once again be run on a group basis.  Moneygall have been drawn in Group A along with Kilruane MacDonaghs, Knockshegowna, Templederry Kenyons, Borris-Ileigh and Toomevara.  We will play Kilruane MacDonaghs in our first match.  Group B will be a five-team group containing Roscrea, Kildangan, Burgess, Silvermines and Nenagh Éire Óg.
