News Update 16/5/16

posted 18 May 2016, 12:26 by Moneygall GAA
Minor: Well done to the Moneygall/Clonakenny footballers who became North Minor A Champions after beating Newport by 2-9 to 0-10 in the final last Wednesday night.
A tight first half finished with Newport leading 0-5 to 0-4 at the break. We got in front in the second half with some well-taken points, and a well-worked team move was finished to the net by Niall Maher. In injury time we were defending a two point lead, then a great run by Eoin Whyte ended when he was fouled in the square. Paul Costello took the penalty and goaled at the second attempt, and the final whistle went soon after.
