News Update 14/9/15

posted 15 Sep 2015, 14:24 by Moneygall GAA
Minor: Well done to the Moneygall/Clonakenny panel and management team who won the North Minor B title by beating Borrisokane in the final last Wednesday in Cloughjordan.  We led 1-8 to 1-6 at half time, our goal scored in the first minute by Cathal Hogan.
We were three points ahead with 5 minutes left, then Joe Fogarty's goal doubled the lead and began a run of late scores.  Captain Paddy Fogarty scored the third goal to seal the win on a final score of 3-16 to 1-9.  We will now meet the mid champions in the county semi final, at a date to be confirmed.

Parish League: There was a great turnout of players, parents, and supporters at the first round of the Under 10 Parish League in the hurling field on Tuesday of last week.  Our four teams consist of boys and girls ranging in age from 7 to 10, and each team is coached by members of the Moneygall senior camogie and hurling teams.
The league will continue on Tuesday evenings at 6.30pm until early October.  We welcome and encourage all parents, grandparents, families and friends to attend every Tuesday and support our young players.

Under 15: We were to play our first match of the Mid Tipp Shield competition on Tuesday 15th in Clonakenny against Upperchurch.  Result will be posted when known.

Under 13: We beat Shannon Rovers by 6-10 to 5-6 in the North Shield competition in Ballinderry last Saturday.  We have already played two matches in the Mid Tipp Shield competition and were in hard luck in both, especially against Upperchurch when we lost to a very late goal.

Under 12 & 10: Our U12s and U10s played two challenge match double headers last week.  On Monday evening Shinrone came to Moneygall for two games, and on Saturday morning Ballinamere were our visitors.  Thanks to both clubs for travelling in such numbers for four worthwhile matches.
Our Under 10s travel to Borrisoleigh this Saturday to participate in the Mick Prior Memorial Tournament.

Cúl Camp Skills: The winners of our club's Cúl Camp skills competition will represent Moneygall at the County Cúl Camp competition this Saturday morning in Dr Morris Park.  Good luck to our U8, U10 and U12 boys and girls.

Little All Stars: Our Under 6 Little All Stars end-of-year blitz takes place this Wednesday evening at 6.30pm.  All support is welcome.

1975/76 Celebrations:  We held the second of our three reunion events last Saturday night.  Evening Mass in Dunkerrin was celebrated for deceased team mates, mentors, club members and relatives.  Later on proceedings moved to Ollie’s Bar for an enjoyable social night.  Our final event of the year will be our trip to the Galway Bay Hotel in Salthill from 6th to 8th of October, with over 50 people already booked to travel.

All Ireland Final: Best of luck to the Tipperary minor football panel and management team in Sunday’s All Ireland Final against Kerry in Croke Park.

Lotto: Our jackpot has reached €4100 for this week’s draw.  You can buy your tickets each week for just €2 each from any of our promoters, or online thorugh the Club Lotto section of this site.  Next Tuesday night’s draw will take place in Delaney’s.  Many thanks to all our lotto players and promoters for your continued support.
