Our parish celebrates The Gathering 2013 this October Bank Holiday Weekend with our Weekend of Welcomes Festival that runs from Thursday 24th until Sunday 27th October.

The festival will officially open on Thursday evening with Barna hosting the evenings entertainment.  The action moves to Moneygall village on Friday, and then on Saturday Dunkerrin will be at the centre of proceedings.

On Sunday Moneygall GAA Club will host the festivals events.  Beginning with a senior hurling challenge match at 1.30pm in St Flannan's Park between Moneygall and Templederry and concluding with a Social Dance in Dunkerrin Community Centre later that night, the timetable for the day is as follows:

1.30pm    Senior Hurling Challenge Match - Moneygall v Templederry
Moneygall will play Templederry in a senior hurling challenge match, commemorating the first hurling match played on record in our club history, when The Honeymounts played Killeen in November 1887.

2.00pm    Under 8 and Under 10 Hurling Exhibition Matches
At half-time in the senior game, our Under 8 and Under 10 hurlers will show their skills in these exhibition matches.

3.00pm    Pig & Porter Reception
Following the conclusion of the senior match, a reception will be held in the clubhouse for players and supporters.  A pig-on-a-spit will be served along with salads and beverages.  Admission €5.

9.00pm    Social Dance
We will conclude our celebrations with a Social Dance in Dunkerrin Community Centre on Sunday night at 9pm.  Music will be by Midnight Dynamo.  Tickets are now on sale for €10 each.  Refreshments will be served and a raffle will be held for a freezer-ready lamb (sponsored by Dudley Maher), a Food Hamper (sponsored by Bernie's Supervalu Roscrea), and a €60 voucher for Parker's Restaurants.  Many thanks to our prize sponsors for their generosity.
