Family Fun Day: This Sunday the club will host a Family Fun Day in St. Flannan’s Park.  We are inviting our members and players of all ages and their families to come along and enjoy the entertainment that will be on show.  Getting underway at 2pm, activities will include long puck, crossbar challenge, bouncy castles and slides, face-painting and more, while a barbeque will be provided and further refreshments will also be available.  The club committee will take on the senior hurlers in a challenge match which is sure to provide some entertaining moments for the spectators.

Please come along and enjoy the day!

All-Ireland U16: The All-Ireland Under 16 Hurling Tournament, sponsored by Tipperary Supporters Club, will take place this weekend.  On Saturday St. Flannan’s Park will host Group 1, involving Galway, Waterford and Offaly.  The group matches will start at 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm.  The group winners will advance to the semi-finals, one of which will also be played in Moneygall at 4.30pm, while the runners-up will go forward to the shield semi-finals.  The finals will be played on Sunday in Semple Stadium.

Lotto: The club lotto jackpot has risen to €9050 for this week’s draw in Julia’s Bar on Tuesday 28th.  Tickets can be bought for €2 each, or 3 for €5 from our promoters and in local shops and pubs.  Tickets can also be purchased online through our website.  Many thanks for your support.

Minor: Our minor hurlers beat Upperchurch Drombane by 5-5 to 2-13 in their final match of the mid championship group stages last Wednesday evening.  Clonakenny/Moneygall have finished the group with ten points from six games and now await the outcome of the remaining fixtures before the pairings for the knockout stages will be known.  In the meantime we are due to play Drom Inch in the mid minor B football final on Wednesday 5th September in Killea.

Under 16: Clonakenny/Moneygall beat Dúrlas Óg by 6-8 to 2-4 in the quarter final of the mid championship on Monday evening in Killea.  We will now play Loughmore Castleiney in the semi final.

Under 14: Our Under 14 hurlers were beaten by Nenagh Eire Og in the first round of the plate competition last Wednesday.  We travel to play Roscrea this Wednesday evening (29th), and will then play Toomevara at home on Wednesday, 5th September.  Following the three rounds of games the top two teams will contest the plate final.

Under 12: Our Under 12 hurlers travelled to Littleton last Saturday to contest the Premier 12s County End Games, where we were beaten in the Group 3 quarter final.  Well done to our players for their performance on Saturday and right throughout the year.  We finished the day with a visit to McDonald’s on the way home.
