Junior: Hard luck to our junior hurling panel who were beaten by Nenagh Eire Og by 1-19 to 1-16 in the north final in Toomevara on Saturday evening last.  Moneygall recovered from three points down at half time to level the scores at 0-14 apiece with twelve minutes left.  Damien Martin’s goal in the last minute put us ahead by 1-16 to 0-16 but Nenagh hit three quick points to level the scores again before getting the winning goal in injury time.  Both teams advance to the county series and we will now play the mid champions in the quarter final.

Double Header: Earlier on Saturday afternoon St. Flannan’s Park hosted a county intermediate hurling quarter-final double-header.  The large attendance got full value as both matches went to extra time, with Silvermines beating Moyne-Templetuohy by 2-23 to 2-18 and Ballina beating Clonakenny by 4-15 to 0-19.  Thanks to all who helped with preparing the grounds for the matches and stewarding on the day.

Upcoming Events: This year’s AGM will take place in the GAA Centre on Friday 23rd November.  The club will also hold a dinner dance on Friday 9th November in The Thatched Cottage in Ballycommon.  Tickets will be on sale soon.

Tipperary Minors: Best of luck to the Tipperary minor hurling team and management in this Sunday’s All-Ireland Minor Hurling Final replay against Dublin in Croke Park.
