Moneygall were beaten by Roscrea by 1-14 to 1-10 in round 4 of the north senior hurling championship on Sunday evening in Toomevara.  Roscrea played with a strong wind advantage in the first half and built up a 1-8 to 0-4 half time lead.  Phil Fanning scored a goal from a penalty in the second half to reduce the gap to 1-10 to 1-6 but Roscrea soon stretched their lead again with three more points.  The gap was slowly narrowed again to 1-13 to 1-10 but time was running out and an injury time point for Roscrea sealed their win.

This result means Moneygall remain bottom of Group 1 with one round to go.  Moneygall can still reach the quarter finals but must record a big win over Kilruane MacDonaghs and rely on other results to go their way.  These games are likely to be played on the June bank holiday weekend.
