North SHC - Moneygall 3-16 Kilruane 1-10

Despite a fine performance against Kilruane MacDonaghs our senior hurlers were knocked out of the north championship on Friday night.  Moneygall had to win by at least nine points to have any chance of advancing to the quarter finals, however a draw for Roscrea in their game against Nenagh Eire Og meant they finished in third place, one point ahead of Moneygall, to take the last quarter final spot .

We now await the draw for the first round of the county championship in July, where the sixteen teams who do not reach their divisional semi finals will be drawn in eight knockout matches.

Team: Ciaran Quinlan; Ger Ryan, Sean Ryan, Eoin Troy; Phil Fanning (0-1), Mike Ryan, Pajo Troy (captain); Brendan Toohey (0-1), Michael Bergin (0-2); Willie Greene (0-5, 4 frees, 1 ‘65), Conor Ryan (0-2), Eamonn McCormack (0-1); Jody Troy (0-3), Paddy Fanning (2-0), Ger Kirwan (1-1).  Subs: Eoghan Ryan for Eamonn McCormack, Padhraic Greene for Conor Ryan (blood sub).
