Jackpot Winner: Congratulations to Joe O’Reilly, Laughaun, who was the winner of our lotto jackpot of €16,550 last week. Our new jackpot will stand at €2000. Intermediate: Our intermediate team will play Drom & Inch in the first round of the county intermediate championship this Sunday in Templemore. Throw-in time is fixed for 12 noon. Best of luck to the players and management for the year.

Junior: Our junior team received a walkover in our latest league fixture. Our remaining group matches will be against Roscrea and Burgess.

Minor: Well done to the Moneygall/Clonakenny hurlers who beat Newport last Thursday evening in Newport. The championship now takes a break until after the leaving cert exams.


Under 16: Our Under 16 footballers were playing Burgess in the north semi final on Monday evening. See Match Results section.

Under 14: Moneygall/Clonakenny played two football matches last week, losing out to Burgess on Wednesday evening and to Silvermines on Saturday afternoon. We will play Toomevara this Wednesday evening in Toomevara.

Under 12: Good luck to the U12 footballers in their north semi final against Borrisokane on Friday night in St Flannan's Park.

Under 10: Our U10s recently took part in a football blitz in Dr Morris Park, and have hosted Roscrea and Coolderry/Shinrone in hurling. Thanks to Roscrea and Coolderry/Shinrone for the games.

Intermediate: Moneygall will play Drom & Inch in the first round of the county championship on April 30th in Templemore. Throw-in time is fixed for 12 noon.

Junior: We will play Shannon Rovers in the league this Saturday evening in St Flannan’s Park at 7pm.

Under 21: Moneygall/Clonakenny played their first match of the Under 21 A football championship last Saturday, when we were beaten by Galtee Rovers in the county semi final in The Ragg on a 4-22 to 1-8 scoreline.

Minor: Our minor hurlers got off to a great start in the north championship with a 4-10 to 3-9 win over Borris-Ileigh on Good Friday. Our second match takes place this Thursday evening, away to Newport.

Under 16: Well done to the Moneygall/Clonakenny footballers who had a hard-fought 1-7 to 1-6 win over Burgess last week. We have also received a walkover in our last fixture, which means we have now qualified for the semi finals.

Under 14: Moneygall/Clonakenny had a good win over Templederry/Ballinahinch in the football championship last week. We will play Burgess this Wednesday evening in Moneygall.


Under 12:
Well done to our U12 footballers who completed the round robin section of the championship with a win over Kiladangan in Puckane last Friday. Having recorded four wins and a draw from five games our team has qualified for the semi finals.


Easter Camp: Our three-day Easter Camp began on Wednesday morning and continues until Friday.

County League: Moneygall were beaten by Newport by 1-23 to 0-11 in Newport on Sunday last. Our first group match of the intermediate championship will be against Drom Inch, possibly on the weekend of 30th April.

Junior: We were beaten by Lorrha by 4-10 to 0-15 in the Junior B League on Saturday evening in Lorrha. Our next match is scheduled to be at home to Shannon Rovers on Saturday week.

Minor: The minor hurling championship gets underway on Good Friday and Moneygall/Clonakenny will play Borris-Ileigh at 6.30pm in St Flannan’s Park. We were beaten by Silvermines by 5-10 to 3-9 in the football championship last Thursday.

Under 16: Moneygall/Clonakenny beat Ballina by 3-7 to 2-8 last Monday week. We were then due to play Burgess on Monday evening.

Under 14: Moneygall/Clonakenny beat Inane Rovers by 2-7 to 1-5 in the football championship last week. Our next match will be against Ballinahinch/Templederry this Wednesday evening in Ballinahinch.

Under 12: Well done to our U12 footballers who had a good win over Lorrha last Friday. We will play Kiladangan this Friday evening in Puckane at 6.30pm.


Easter Camp: Our Easter Camp will start at 10am on Wednesday 19th April and will run until Friday. Registration will be taken on Tuesday evening (18th) at juvenile training and again on Wednesday morning at 9.30am.

Reunion: On Saturday 28th October next a 1960s Gala Reunion Dinner will be held in Racket Hall Hotel in Roscrea. All players who played hurling and football for Moneygall in the 1940s, 50s and 60s will be invited to attend. Further details will follow in the coming months.

County League: Moneygall are scheduled to play Newport in the county hurling league this Sunday in Newport. Throw-in time is fixed for 12 noon.

Junior: Our junior hurlers had a good win over Ballinahinch in our first match of the North Junior B League last Friday evening in Moneygall. Our next match is scheduled for this Saturday evening away to Lorrha.


Under 21: Moneygall/Clonakenny received a walkover from Borrisokane in the North U21 A Football Final last weekend. As a result Moneygall/Clonakenny will advance to the county semi final against Galtee Rovers.

Minor: Moneygall/Clonakenny are scheduled to play Silvermines in the football championship on Thursday evening at 6.30pm in Dolla.

Tipp Minors: Best of luck to Joe Fogarty and the Tipperary panel in the Munster Minor Hurling Championship against Limerick this Wednesday night in Thurles.

Under 16: Moneygall/Clonakenny beat Newport in the football championship last Monday week. Our next match was due to be on Monday 3rd against Ballina.

Under 14: We were beaten by Ballina by 1-8 to 1-4 in the U14 A football championship last week. Our next game will be this Wednesday evening against Inane Rovers, in St Flannan’s Park at 6.30pm.

Under 12: Moneygall had a good win over Borrisokane last Thursday in the football championship. This Friday we will play Lorrha at 6.30pm in St Flannan’s Park.

Child Protection Officer: We would like to welcome John Duggan, Moneygall, as our newly appointed Child Protection Officer. Our thanks to John for accepting the role. We would also like to thank Una Teehan and Noel Ryan who have done the job so well over the last few years.

Easter Camp: There has been a positive response to the plans for our Easter Camp. Our Camp will go ahead from Wednesday 19th to Friday 21st April. Parents will be informed of the registration details in the coming weeks.

North Under 21 A Football Final

The North U21 A Football Final between Moneygall/Clonakenny and Borrisokane, due to be played today, will not go ahead as Borrisokane have conceded a walkover in this fixture.

County League: We recorded our first win of the county league with a 0-16 to 1-9 victory over Borrisokane last Sunday. Our remaining matches will be against Newport, Knockavilla and Clonakenny.

Junior: We will have our first match of the North Junior B League this Friday evening against Ballinahinch in St Flannan’s Park.

Under 21: The North U21 A Football Final between Moneygall/Clonakenny and Borrisokane is scheduled for this Saturday evening in Kilcolman at 6.30pm.

Minor: We were beaten by Kiladangan by 5-4 to 2-7 in our first match of the north minor football championship last Sunday. Our other two group matches will be against Silvermines and Lorrha Rovers.


Under 16: We were due to play Newport in the football championship on Monday evening. Our next match is scheduled for next Monday away to Ballina.

Under 14: Last week’s fixture against Silvermines was postponed due to an unplayable pitch. We are due to play Ballina this Wednesday evening in Ballina at 6.30pm.

Under 12: Our next match in the football championship will be away to Borrisokane this Thursday evening at 6.30pm.

Easter Camp:
We hope to run an Easter Camp for three days during the Easter Holidays – on Wednesday 19th, Thursday 20th & Friday 21st April. The camp will run from 10am-1pm each day and the cost is €25 per child participating. Each participant will receive a sliotar and football on completion of the camp. The camp is open to Boys and Girls aged 6-13.
The camp will be run by Tipperary GAA Games Development Officers and will mainly concentrate on the skills of the game. We need to confirm numbers so if interested, or if you have any further questions, email or text juvenile secretary John Bolger by this Wednesday, 29th March (secretarybng.moneygall.tipperary@gaa.ie).

County League: Moneygall will play Borrisokane in the County Hurling League this Sunday. This match is fixed for 12 noon in St Flannan’s Park.

Junior: We will have our first match of the North Junior B League when we play Ballinahinch this Saturday in St Flannan’s Park at 6pm.

Minor: Our football match against Silvermines scheduled for Sunday last was postponed. We are due to play Kiladangan this Sunday.

Under 16: Well done to the Moneygall/Clonakenny team who beat Portroe by 3-5 to 2-4 in the football championship on Saturday morning. Our next match will be against Newport next Monday evening at 6pm in St Flannan’s Park.

Under 14: We will have our first match of the U14 A football championship this Wednesday evening against Silvermines, in St Flannan’s Park at 6pm.

Under 12: Our U12 footballers played two championship matches last week, beating Kilruane on Tuesday evening and then drawing with Burgess on Saturday. Well done to all the players.

County League: Moneygall were beaten by Silvermines by 1-20 to 2-14 in the first round of the county league in Dolla last Sunday. Our next match in the group will be against Borrisokane.

Under 21: The North U21A football final between Moneygall/Clonakenny and Borrisokane has been scheduled for Sunday 26th March in Kilcolman.

Minor: Moneygall/Clonakenny are due to play Silvermines in the first round of the North Minor B football championship this Sunday in Dolla.

Under 16: We were beaten by Borrisokane by 4-7 to 1-5 in our first championship last Saturday. Our next match is scheduled for this Saturday against Portroe.

Under 14: The U14 football championship is due to begin next Wednesday, 22nd March.

Under 12: Our first two football championship matches have been postponed the last two weekends. This Saturday we are due to play Burgess in Kilcolman.

County League: Moneygall will have their first match in Division 3 of the county hurling league against Silvermines this Sunday. The match is fixed for Dolla at 12 noon. Good luck to the management and players for the year.

Football: Our Under 16 and Under 12 matches due to be played last Saturday were postponed. See our club website and facebook page for this week’s fixtures for all our teams.

Membership: Membership can now be paid through the Membership section of our website. Rates for 2017 are as follows: Adult Player €50; Student €20; Non-playing Adult €30; Married Couple €50; Family €50; Juvenile €15; Overseas €20.

Tipperary GAA Draw: Congrats to Sean King and Jimmy Carroll, who were the winners of €500 in the March monthly draw, held last Friday night.

Black & Reds: Our 2017 captain is Stephen Flaherty. Stephen’s mother was the late Eileen Whyte from Cooraclevin. He has been an enthusiastic member of the Black & Reds for over twenty years. He is a member of Kilcock G.C. in Co Kildare where his Captain’s Prize will be played in August. We wish him well in his year as Captain. Remaining fixtures for 2017: Portarlington, 8 April; Rathdowney, 13 May; Tullamore, 1 July; Kilcock, 19 August; Thurles, 30 September. Christmas scramble to be arranged.

Under 16: Moneygall/Clonakenny will play our first match of the football championship against Silvermines this Saturday at 3pm in St Flannan’s Park. We brought our U16 panel to O'Moore Park in Portlaoise last Saturday night to see Tipperary beat Laois in the National Football League.  Everyone enjoyed the trip and thanks to Tomás Matthews of Clonakenny for organising.  Thanks also to Paul Fogarty for sponsoring a meal for the lads in The White House, and thanks to both clubs for subsidising the bus.

The results were: 1 – Mike Ryan 41; 2 – Dylan Maher 40; 3 – Tom Byrne 40; Front Nine – Vera Smyth 20; Back Nine – Fabian Jones 21; Nearest Pin (8) – Clodagh Jones; Nearest Pin (14) – Michael Dwyer. The next outing will be in Portarlington on 8th April.
